Discovery Camping Association

Providing week-long summer camping experiences for children, teens and families of all ages and sizes since 1968.

About us

One association = Four camps

The Discovery Camping Association (DCA) is a non-profit Montreal camping organization that encompasses four (4) sleep-away camps, notably: Friends & Family CampDaylight Camp (DLC), Youth in Action Camp (YA), and Visions Camp (VC). DCA is run and created by 100% camp-loving volunteers.

All DCA camps have been going to Camp Kinkora yearly since 1968. Camp Kinkora has everything the camps need to run a weekly program such as staffing (kitchen, lifeguards, recreation), heated cabins, a dining hall, a chapel for gathering, a small beach, an infirmary and administration building. The kitchen staff provide varied and hot meals three times a day. It is located in St-Adolphe-d’Howard, 45 minutes North of Montreal. Campers going to Friends & Family Camp drive to Camp Kinkora, whereas the youth camps (DLC, YA and VC) take a bus from Dorval (Qc).

Our camps are unique and tailor to different clienteles. They have their own directors, staff and programs. DCA oversees the connection between each camp, directorship transitions and all the little details to assure a smooth camping season.

FAQs

What's the difference between Daylight Camp and Youth In Action Camp?

Parents typically choose between DLC and YA based on their summer schedules or which camp they have attended in the past. We have generations of alumni that continue to send their children or grandchildren to their beloved camp.

Does Friends & Family Camp also go to Camp Kinkora on a bus?

No, Friends & Family Camp does not take a bus. Campers (individuals or families) going to FFC must drive themselves to Camp Kinkora. Only Daylight Camp, Youth in Action Camp and Visions Camp campers take the bus. Drop-off and pick-up is in Dorval (Montreal area).

Are there any special discounts?

We offer the following discounts: 1) registering more than one child (of the same family), 2) bringing a friend (that has never gone to any of our camps before), and 3) registering to more than one camp (applies only to DLC, YA and Visions). Note that only one discount is applied at a time (ie: no discount accumulation).

Registering more than one child (of the same family) will automatically calculate on the registration form. If you bring a friend who has also registered, email the camp and they will confirm your final price. If you are attending more than one youth camp, email the second camp you are registering for to inform them of the other camp your child is also attending o (example: Your child is going to DLC but is also registered at Visions Camp, email Visions Camp).
